A "Field Assistant" at a water compony is an entry-level position where the primary responsibility is to support the field technicians in various tasks related to the maintenance and repair of the water distribution system, including locating leaks, assisting with valve operations, reading meters, and preforming basic maintenance checks on equipment, usually under the direct supervision of a more experienced technician; essentially acting as a helper in the field for a day to day operations of the water system.
